Fathers Eugene O'Hagan and Martin O'Hagan, who are brothers, and David Delargy have been in the priesthood for some 20 years. But they've been singing together since their early teens.
In February they recorded a demo in Belfast which they sent off -- as Eugene O'Hagan puts it -- to "the powers that be." Sony BMG responded almost instantly with a very nice offering indeed, a record deal reportedly to the tune of somewhere north of $2 million.
The Priests' debut album will be released on November 18, and to promote this album The Priests will be touring with...RMW!
In a shocking turn of events the band announced today, via their website, that they will be touring with the hardcore, x-rated, wrestling company. They had this to say:
"Massive Media Limited has offered us a substantial amount of money to tour with their wrestling company, RMW. We don't know anything about this wrestling organization, but it will be a pleasure to work with such a big media corporation to promote our album."
Tom Bergmen was asked about the deal.
"These guys are going to be big, and what better way to help change RMW's image than to get a trio of singing Priests to tour with us? Its a great idea. RMW will be touring the country as a part of our Domestic Violence Tour, and this will bring great exposure to both our company and the band."
When asked about guys like Wifebeater and Legend, Bergman had this to say:
"A lot could go wrong with this, but I assure you that guys like Wifebeater will NOT mess this up for me. I have invested a lot of money in this project, and if all goes well it will make money ten-fold."
It has yet to be seen how Mr. Bergman will keep Wifebeater on a leash, but if you ask us, its almost impossible.
