Hammerlock Pro Wrestling was owned and operated by Jack Hammer. It was a tradition mat based pro wrestling federation with your standard singlets and headlocks. The federation discontinued operations in 2000, bought for a measly 100 grand by Victor Castro. He released compilation tapes and licensed the old footage out as "Classic Wrestling Presents". These were weekly broadcasts on local affiliates.
In 2003 "Classic Wrestling Presents" was cancelled, and Mysterious X decided to bring back Hammerlock Pro Wrestling in a new format. He already had the contracts for all of the wrestlers, the buildings they ran, and the trust of local affiliates. Red Money Wrestling was created. Hammerlock Pro Wrestling no longer officially exists, and the company was officially name changed to RMW. It was a far cry from the high quailty sport that Hammerlock Pro Wrestling was. This was a low brow, classless, Jerry Springer style take on the sport. Mac Daddy Squid, Wifebeater, and Mysterious X kayfabe ran the company.
The company almost collapsed in 2008 when Massive Media Limited bought RMW, and Future Entertainment Networks bought Massive Media Limited. RMW was independently owned under the MML banner, which lead to the financial backing being dropped leaving X to fund the federation himself. IWB had offered to fund the company to become a chapter, Castro agreed, but the deal fell through after an incident on the Domestic Violence Tour. Former Commissioner and RMW Champion, Wife Beater, bought half of the company to help it keep afloat.
In 2010 the company was split into 2 brands, with Wifebeater running one and Mysterious X the other. In July 2011 Wifebeater sold 50% of his 50% to Jack Hammer, who hates the turn the company took in the last 10 years. Wifebeater did not realize this and now regrets the decision.
Official ownership chart:
Victor Castro aka Mysterious X: 50%
Wife Beater aka Wifebeater: 25%
Jack Hammer: 25%
